Welcome to Nicholas Colgrove, PhD, Post Doc Fellow

Nicholas (Nick) Colgrove, PhD, is joining as a Post Doc Fellow to the Graduate Program in Bioethics and the Department of Philosophy.

Nick recently completed his PhD in philosophy at Baylor University, where he spent the last four years teaching courses in bioethics. As a teacher, he is especially invested in crafting courses and seminars that serve the needs and interests of his students and better equip them to pursue the particular goals they have set for themselves.  At Baylor, he received the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award in Spring 2019. Over the last few months, he has had a handful of articles accepted for publication in Journal of Medical Ethics and Journal of Medicine & Philosophy (among others). Lately, his work has been devoted to beginning of life issues as well as the role of religious perspectives in clinical practice. Looking ahead, he plans to investigate the impact of emerging reproductive technologies on the concepts of birth and personhood, as well as various points of intersection between medical practice and virtue theory.
